Hipster Hats

I have been enjoying knitting from
Cathy Carron's "Hip Knit Hats"
and have made several hats for holiday giving. My four year old son graciously models the hats, even though two out of three are meant for girls. I will have to burn these when he is a teenager!!!

One was made with malabrigo - some leftovers I had from the blanket I'm making. This taught me how beautiful this yarn knits up - with a smaller needle - I used size 7. Am thinking of redoing the blanket squares - though I could just make the big ones into pillows and then do other squares with the smaller needle.

The pink was done with Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk and Cashmerino Astrakhan. And the third was with some leftovers from an afghan kit. That one (with the tassels) is my favorite pattern and I plan to make more!!!
